Mechanical Design Engineer

Cellbox Labs (https://www.cellboxlabs.com/) is one of the top biotechstartups from Latvia that develops unique organ on chip technology to make drugdevelopment faster and more effective. Technology is based on mass manufacturablemicrofluidics chip and plug and play cell culturing instrument. We are lookingfor mechanical engineer for development of next generation instrument. This isopportunity to join the company at early stage and play important role in a company.

Responsibilities

Develop instrument prototype for organ on chip cell culturing in 3D CAD environment that includes precision electro-mechanical and fluidic mechanisms
Participate in specification of product requirements and translate requirements into subsystem specifications
Perform functional testing of the system and data analysis
Work in cross-functional team with biologists and microfluidic engineers
Manage outsourcing projects starting from specification to overseeing quality and timely work completion
Compare performance and cost of design options in a data driven manner
Source components and interface with suppliers and manufacturing partners

Requirements

Essential

Master of bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or in a related field.
Fluent in SolidWorks CAD software
Experience designing mechanisms and systems
Experience in product development
Ability to learn fast and acquire a lot of new knowledge

Desirable

experience in development of systems and mechanisms for application in medicine and biology
