Cellbox Labs is a biotech company based in Riga, Latvia, developing industrial - grade organ-on-a-chip (OOC) platforms for advancedhuman tissue modeling. Our technologies combine mass manufacturable chips andautomated cultivation systems to provide advanced human in vitro models forboth fundamental and applied research.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled researcher to lead developmentand testing of a pancreatic on chip model for GLP-1 analogue and biosimilartesting. The goal is to assess whether organ on chip platforms outperformtraditional well-plate and transwell systems in evaluating efficacy ofbiosimilar drugs.
· Lead the development and validation of pancreatic cell-based organ on chip models for biosimilar drug testing.
· Design and perform comparative experiments using OOC and static in vitro systems to evaluate the efficacy of biosimilars with both primary and iPSC-derived pancreatic cells.
· Perform functional assays (e.g., glucose responsiveness), analyze results, and interpret data in the context of drug efficacy.
· Prepare detailed experimental reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and project documentation.
· Present research outcomes at scientific meetings and contribute to high-impact peer-reviewed publications.
· Maintain effective communication with collaboration partners and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
· Mentor and supervise junior researchers, fostering a productive and collaborative laboratory environment.
· PhD in cell biology, physiology, biomedical sciences, or related field.
· Proven expertise in culturing primary pancreatic cells.
· Experience leading experimental research with strong publication record.
· Proficiency in functional assays (e.g., glucose-stimulated response, viability, cytotoxicity).
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Demonstrated experience mentoring or supervising lab personnel.
· Prior work with OOC systems or microfluidics.
· Proven expertise in work with iPSC cells.
· Experience in testing hormone-based drugs orbiosimilars in vitro.
· Familiarity with quality standards for early-stagepreclinical R&D.
· Knowledge of imaging and advanced analyticaltechniques.
· Industrial experience in biotech orpharmaceutical sector is an advantage.
